Description : RRB JE Recruitment 2026, Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs), Ministry of Railways has released CEN No. 04/2026 for recruitment to various Junior Engineer (JE), Depot Material Superintendent (DMS) and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA) posts. The original notification announced 3993 vacancies, which have been revised to 4029 vacancies through Corrigendum-1. The online application process started on 14 August 2026 and the last date to apply is 13 September 2026. • Candidates are advised to authenticate their identity through DigiLocker or Aadhaar during account creation.
• Select CEN No. 04/2026 for JE/DMS/CMA recruitment.

Q.4. What is the age limit for RRB JE Recruitment 2026?

General, OBC and EWS candidates have to pay Rs. 500/-. SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, PwBD, Female, Transgender, Minority and eligible EBC candidates have to pay Rs. 250/-.

Q.6. How many vacancies were added through Corrigendum-1?

Corrigendum-1 added 36 vacancies — 35 Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant posts and 1 additional JE/Electrical/TRS post. The total vacancies increased from 3993 to 4029.

Q.7. What is the qualification for Junior Engineer posts?

The qualification depends on the post and exam group. Generally, candidates require a relevant three-year Diploma in Engineering or an eligible higher qualification such as B.E./B.Tech in the prescribed discipline.

Q.8. What is the qualification for Depot Material Superintendent?

Candidates require a three-year Diploma in Engineering in any discipline from a recognized University/Institution. Higher qualifications such as B.E./B.Tech are also acceptable in lieu of the diploma.

Q.9. What is the qualification for Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant?

For the newly added CMA post, candidates require a B.Sc. degree with Physics and Chemistry with the prescribed minimum marks and subject combination as specified in Corrigendum-1.

Q.10. What is the selection process?

The selection process consists of 1st Stage CBT, 2nd Stage CBT, Document Verification and Medical Examination, followed by final empanelment as per Railway Recruitment Board rules.

Q.11. Is there negative marking in the RRB JE examination?

Yes. There is a deduction of 1/3 of the marks allotted to the question for every wrong answer in CBT-I and CBT-II.
