Description : UP Special TET 2026, Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC), Prayagraj has released the notification for the Special Teacher Eligibility Test (Special TET) 2026 under Advertisement No. 03/2026. The examination is intended for teachers currently working at Primary and Upper Primary levels in eligible schools of Uttar Pradesh and eligible Special Educators / Assistant Teachers working with Children with Special Needs (CWSN). The online application process will start from 05 September 2026 and continue up to 04 October 2026. Eligibility Details – UP Special TET 2026
Level / Category Classes Who Can Apply Eligibility / Qualification
Special TET – Primary Level 1–5 Teachers currently working at the Primary level in eligible State Government, Local Body, Government-Aided or recognised Primary Schools in Uttar Pradesh. The candidate must be currently working as an eligible Primary-level teacher and must provide the required eHRMS Code during the application process.
Special TET – Upper Primary Level 6–8 Teachers currently working at the Upper Primary / Junior High School level in eligible State Government, Local Body, Government-Aided or recognised schools in Uttar Pradesh. The candidate must be currently working as an eligible Upper Primary-level teacher and must provide the required eHRMS Code during the application process.
Special Educator (CWSN) – Primary 1–5 Special Educators / Assistant Teachers working with Children with Special Needs (CWSN) on the prescribed contractual / daily-wage basis at the Primary level. Graduation with D.Ed. Special Education or equivalent qualification recognised by RCI, along with an active CRR number and valid RCI registration certificate.
Special Educator (CWSN) – Upper Primary 6–8 Special Educators / Assistant Teachers working with Children with Special Needs (CWSN) on the prescribed contractual / daily-wage basis at the Upper Primary level. Graduation with B.Ed. Special Education or equivalent qualification recognised by RCI, along with an active CRR number and valid RCI registration certificate.
Nature of Examination This is an eligibility test and not a conventional vacancy-based recruitment examination. No fixed number of vacancies is advertised for the Special TET itself.
How to Fill Form – UP Special TET 2026
  • Visit the official UPESSC website and complete your One Time Registration (OTR).
  • OTR is mandatory before filling the Special TET application form.
  • Login using your OTR details and select Special Teacher Eligibility Test (Special TET) 2026, Advertisement No. 03/2026.
  • Select the appropriate examination level: Primary or Upper Primary.
  • Serving teachers should enter their required eHRMS Code.

Negative Marking: There is no negative marking in the Special TET examination.

UP Special TET is an eligibility examination and does not itself provide a separate salary or pay scale.

  • Serving teachers will continue to receive salary according to their existing post and applicable service rules.
  • The Special TET is conducted to establish the required TET eligibility.
  • Successful candidates will receive the applicable eligibility certificate as prescribed.
